Lunar Wool Blanket/Travel Rug
A Timeless Blend of History and Luxury – Fresh from the Loom
Wrap yourself in warmth, history, and elegance with the Lunar Tartan Wool Blanket/ Travel Rug. This exclusive design tells a story like no other. The Lunar Tartan was created by renowned designer Ian Maxwell to commemorate astronaut Neil Armstrong's visit to Langholm – the ‘Muckle Toon’ – in 1972. While Neil visited this area he visited us here at Gilnockie Tower where he stood on the top of the tower, back in his ancestral home, here at the heart of Clan Armstrong. Inspired by the ethereal tones and textures of the moon’s surface and surrounding atmosphere, the design beautifully captures the silvers, shadows, and deep reds seen in lunar landscapes.
Crafted at Drove Weavers Mill in Langholm, where Ian Maxwell’s legacy lives on, this rich lunar-inspired tartan adds a unique and rustic charm to any space.
Key Features:
Whether draped over your favourite chair, used as a cosy wrap by the fire, or gifted as a piece of heritage and style, the Lunar Tartan Wool Blanket/ Travel Rug is more than just a blanket – it’s a piece of history.
